What is AMR, and how to open it?
AMR, or Adaptive Multi-Rate, is an audio compression format developed by Ericsson and optimized for speech coding. In simple words, these files are voice recordings from various mobile devices such as 3G cell phones and VoIP hardware. For example, MMS(Multimedia Messaging Service) messages are sent in AMR format. Adaptive Multi-Rate format is well supported by the most modern mobile telephone handsets.
Programs that open AMR files include QuickTime Player, VLC, RealPlayer, and some others. To play an Adaptive Multi-Rate file with Windows Media Player might require K-Lite Codec Pack.
What is the difference between AMR and WAV?
Compared to WAV, AMR files are much smaller in size but are of good quality.
If you want to convert AMR to WAV, follow the steps and choose the 'to WAV' button instead of 'to MP3'. The conversion process is also very fast.
Is it possible to convert MP3 to AMR with Freemake?
Unfortunately, our software doesn't support MP3 to AMR conversion. So you'd better look for some online AMR converter to do this task.
